B.C. has lowered the passing scores in the new selection process
The province has once again pulled off a major immigration prank.
On August 3, B.C.'s immigration program issued 374 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province.
361 candidates were selected in the streams for skilled workers, Canadian graduates and lower and mid-level professionals. The minimum passing scores were distributed as follows:
- skilled workers — 91;
- Canadian graduates — 79;
- low and medium skilled workers — 74;
- skilled workers with selection through Express Entry — 89;
- Canadian graduates with selection through Express Entry — 77.
B.C. made a separate selection for candidates with the following occupations:
Professionals in these fields received 13 invitations, the minimum passing score for all categories was 107.
Passing scores in the last draw were down slightly compared to the previous selection, which took place on July 20.
