Manitoba once again holds record immigration draw

The province is targeting specialists from abroad and is breaking its own records for the third time.

On July 27, Manitoba's immigration program sent out 1,140 invitations to apply for nomination from the province, again setting a record among previous provincial selections. The invitations went to qualified specialists from overseas who had an active profile in the Express Entry system.

The federal government uses the Express Entry system to process CoML applications for three federal programs:

This is Manitoba's third draw, held separately for a stream of professionals from overseas. Applicants who received invitations in the new drawing scored a minimum of 557 points on the Expression of Interest system, eight points lower than in the previous drawing for this category of candidates, which was held on June 28.

Manitoba assesses immigrant applicants on factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills and ties to the province.

To increase your chances of receiving an invitation from Manitoba, keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
