Immigration to Canada through the Canadian Experience Class program
If you have worked in Canada for 1 year or more, you can immigrate through the Canadian Experience Class program.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the three federal immigration programs to Canada that is operated through the Express Entry system. It is designed for people with Canadian work experience.
This program is usually used by Canadian university graduates who stay in Canada and work under the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Therefore, immigration to Canada through education is very popular. In general, foreign nationals with Canadian work experience are perfect candidates for immigration.
Minimum requirements
You must meet several requirements to immigrate through the Canadian Experience Class program:
- minimum high school education;
- at least 1 year of full-time work experience or 2 years of part-time work experience (a total of 1,560 hours) within the past 3 years in a skilled occupation of NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 jobs categories;
- English or French ability according to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB):
- level 7 for NOC TEER 0 and 1 occupations;
- level 5 for NOC TEER 2 and 3 occupations;
- intention to live outside the province of Quebec.
Note: work experience while studying is not counted.
