British Columbia held another invitation drawing
Different categories of applicants were invited.
On October 31, British Columbia held another screening of candidates under its immigration program. Up to 208 applicants were invited.
133 invitations were distributed among the following categories:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score 111;
- International Graduates (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 113;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — minimum score of 91.
Up to 75 more candidates received invitations because of their in-demand professions — some of whom were registered in the federal Express Entry system:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants — 48 invitations;
- Healthcare Professionals — 22 invitations;
- other specialties (including veterinarians, zootechnicians and veterinary technicians) — less than 5 invitations.
The minimum score of all of them was 60. Points are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
Passing scores in B.C. continue to remain flat. The previous target selection for in-demand occupations was last held October 24, at which time they too had to cross the 60-point threshold. Compared to the last general selection October 17, the minimum scores also remained unchanged.
We will continue to follow the history of immigration selections in British Columbia to stay up to date with the latest information.
