Ontario continues to invite healthcare and tech workers

The province selected 2,835 more professionals in these sectors.

The province of Ontario has published the results of two past selections for the Human Capital Priorities stream, which is aimed at in-demand professionals. What makes the stream special is that the list of eligible occupations changes from draw to draw. This time, the province chose specialists in tech and healthcare occupations.

To apply under the Human Capital Priorities stream, you must register with Express Entry and meet the requirements of one of the federal immigration programs:

The first draw took place from August 11 to 16, the second one was on August 16. Candidates had to score a certain number of points in the Comprehensive Ranking System. The number of invitations and points were as follows:

  • August 11-16 — 2,084 invitations, with scores ranging from 473 to 516;
  • August 16 — 751 invitations, with scores ranging from 473 to 495.

The list of eligible professions in the two draws was the same. Among the technical specialists, there were computer system developers, web designers, computer engineers, data specialists, and more.

The list of healthcare occupations is much longer. It includes dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, dietitians, physiotherapists, nurses, physician assistants, and other professionals. The complete lists can be viewed on Ontario's official website.
