British Columbia has once again selected in-demand professionals
The province has sent out invitations to apply for permanent residency.
On August 15, British Columbia held a targeted drawing for some immigration candidates. Invitations went out to 158 skilled workers and international graduates. Some of them were registered in the Express Entry system.
This time the selection was only for candidates with in-demand occupations:
- tech workers — 107 invitations;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 27 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 19 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
Technicians had to score 88 points under the provincial scoring system, while others had to score 60 points. Points in British Columbia are awarded for language skills, education, work experience, employer location, and salary.
The previous targeted selection in the province was held on August 1, the minimum scores were the same. And on August 9, a general draw was held for candidates with all professions.
