Another round of invitations from British Columbia
Passing scores remain the same.
On January 17, British Columbia held a new draw under its immigration program. This time, 192 invitations were sent to workers and graduates in general and targeted draws.
A total of 154 people in several streams were selected in the general drawing:
- Skilled Worker;
- Skilled Worker, Express Entry option;
- International Graduate;
- International Graduate, Express Entry option;
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled.
The passing score for entry-level and semi-skilled professionals was 82, and the passing score for the other streams was 105. In BC's previous general drawing, which was held on January 4, the minimum scores were the same.
The remaining 38 invitations were sent out in the targeted round. Candidates from the streams listed above participated in it, except for the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled stream. But they had to have one of the following occupations:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 18 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 15 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
All of these professionals had to score a minimum of 60 points. The previous targeted draw was held on January 10. The passing scores have not changed.
British Columbia awards points for education, language skills, work experience, employer location, and wage offered. All candidates must have a job offer in the province.
