The province of Ontario invited teachers and trade workers with knowledge of French
A new draw distinguished itself with a large list of suitable occupations.
On December 13, the province of Ontario held a draw under the provincial immigration program. This time francophone professionals with certain occupations were invited.
Applicants in this stream must be registered in Express Entry and have a good command of English and French.
In the new drawing, 160 people who scored between 341 and 490 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System and had experience in one of the occupations listed received invitations:
- secondary school teachers;
- elementary school and kindergarten teachers;
- Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants;
- university professors and lecturers;
- bakers;
- butchers in retail and wholesale;
- machinists and machining and tooling inspectors;
- welders and machine operators;
- construction millwrights and industrial mechanics;
- supervisors and ground transit operators;
- painters and decorators;
- carpenters;
- telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers;
- cabinetmakers;
- automotive service technicians and mechanical repairers;
- telecommunications equipment installers and cable television service technicians;
- contractors and supervisors in mechanic trades;
- tool and die makers;
- roofers and shinglers;
- plasterers, installers, finishers, and lathers;
- contractors and supervisors in construction and repair;
- glaziers;
- concrete finishers;
- aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors;
- industrial electricians;
- appliance servicers and repairers;
- heavy-duty equipment mechanics;
- electricians;
- gas fitters;
- bricklayers;
- plumbers;
- structural metal and platework fabricators and fitters;
- supervisors in mining and quarrying;
- drillers and blasters;
- contractors and supervisors in electrical trades and telecommunications.
The previous drawing for francophones in Ontario was on September 23. The passing score was 326 — considerably lower than this time.
