Special selection for Ukrainians in Manitoba

Special selection for Ukrainians in Manitoba

Invitations were sent out to those who were already registered in the provincial immigration program.

On March 9, 2022, the province of Manitoba invited 71 citizens of Ukraine. All applicants have previously expressed their desire to relocate to Manitoba through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

In total, five requirements were put forward for the nominees:

  • having a relative or friend in Manitoba, or having worked in Manitoba or graduated from an educational institution there;
  • citizenship of Ukraine;
  • knowledge of the language on the CLB scale of at least 4 levels for each of the assessed skills;
  • a certificate from any of the approved language tests, obtained no more than two years ago;
  • a minimum of 60 points on the Manitoba provincial program criteria, MPNP Self-Assessment Points.

The last selection took place on February 24, then the passing score was calculated according to the criteria of the Expression of Interest system. Thus, the selection on March 9 is the first selection based on nationality, where EOI scores were not taken into account. Prior to this, only graduates from the International Education stream were invited without EOI scoring.
