Quebec held a major immigration raffle
The province lowered the passing grades and called more than 500 people.
On February 13, Quebec sent out 523 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination under the provincial immigration program through the Arrima expression of interest system. Selection went through the stream for qualified professionals.
This past drawing selected applicants who received a job offer and scored 592 points on Arrima's scoring system. This is 55 points lower than the previous drawing held on January 27.
A job offer was to be obtained in one of the following occupations:
- computer and information systems managers;
- computer engineers;
- information systems analysts and consultants;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- software developers;
- programmers and developers of interactive systems;
- web designers and -developers;
- electrical and electronic engineering technicians and technologists;
- computer network technicians;
- technical support specialists;
- information systems testing specialists;
- registered nurses;
- licensed nurse practitioners;
- nurse assistants and orderlies;
- middle school teachers;
- Elementary school teachers and educators;
- Early childhood educators;
- producers, directors, choreographers and related professions;
- printing production techniques;
- Graphic designers and illustrators;
- Specialists in wholesale sales.
Quebec's immigration programs are administered by the province on the basis of selection criteria and processes different from those of Canada. At the end of 2021, Quebec held immigration selections once a month, but in 2022, this is the second drawing held in January.
