Alberta raised the passing score in the new selection

The province is not characterized by such high requirements for candidates.

On January 18, the provincial immigration program government Alberta sent 350 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The drawing was held among applicants who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.

The minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 346, 19 points higher than the previous selection held on January 5.

To be invited into the drawing, applicants had to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This almost guarantees an invitation to the subsequent Express Entry drawing.
