Alberta announced the results of the first draw in 2022
The selection process took place two weeks ago.
On January 5, as part of the provincial immigration program, the Alberta government sent out 250 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province. The drawing was held among applicants who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.
The minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 327. This score is quite high for Alberta.
To be invited into the drawing, applicants had to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:
Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This almost guarantees an invitation to the next Express Entry drawing.
