Alberta's smallest selection in months
The passing score was a record high.
On November 24, as part of the provincial immigration program, the Alberta government sent out 100 invitations to apply for nomination from the province. The drawing took place among applicants who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.
The minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 350. This is 7 points higher than in the previous selection, which took place on November 8, and the highest passing score since February 2021.
To receive an invitation in the drawing, applicants had to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which Canada uses to process permanent residence applications for the three federal immigration programs:
- for qualified professionals;
- for professionals with experience in Canada;
- for working professionals.
Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This almost guarantees an invitation in a subsequent Express Entry drawing.
