Ontario invites international graduates
More than 600 lucky winners have been selected in the new selection.
On September 14, the Ontario Provincial Immigration Program sent 621 invitations to candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The drawing was held among graduates of Canadian universities with master's and doctoral degrees.
The number of invitations and passing scores in the "Expression of Interest" system were distributed as follows:
- graduates with a master's degree — 627 invitations, passing score 35;
- doctoral graduates — 64 invitations, passing score 16.
The previous draw for master's graduates was on August, 25, and for PhD graduates on August, 18. Compared to these drawings, the new one has slightly lower passing grades.
In early August, the province of Ontario announced a new candidate evaluation system for listed streams. Ontario evaluates candidates on a number of factors, such as experience in Canada, field of study, language ability and location of the institution.
