Quebec has started holding immigration selections every week
The province continues to issue a record number of invitations.
On September 2, Quebec's immigration program sent 517 invitations through the Arrima expression of interest system. The selection went through the flow for qualified professionals. The province conducted the last four selections once a week, with more than 500 applicants invited in each.
The selected candidates scored a minimum of 499 points in the Arrima evaluation system. This is 18 points lower than it was in the previous selection, which took place on August 26. Points are awarded for factors such as age, language skills, education, work experience, demand for the profession in Quebec, availability of education and work experience in Quebec, and so on. Previously, participants were not awarded points in the Arrima system.
In addition to points, applicants selected in the past selection process had a provincial job offer outside of Montreal and one of the following occupations:
- computer and information systems managers;
- electromechanical and electronic engineers;
- industrial engineers and technologists;
