The province of Ontario held a screening for entrepreneurs
This is the second selection under this stream.
On August 26, the provincial Ontario program sent out 20 invitations as part of a stream for entrepreneurs.
The selected candidates scored between 142 and 200 points on the Expression of Interest system — this is slightly lower than the previous selection that took place on July 7. Businesses wishing to immigrate to Ontario are assessed on factors such as entrepreneurial experience, education, language skills, size of investment, business characteristics, etc.
To start a business in the Greater Toronto Area, a candidate needs $800,000 CAD of capital and $600,000 CAD as an investment. Businesses that plan to start a business outside of the Greater Toronto Area or in the IT field need only $400,000 CAD of equity and $200,000 CAD as an investment.
To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a nomination, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
