Ontario awaits businessmen

The province has conducted an immigration screening for entrepreneurs who want to start or acquire a business.

On July 7, the provincial Ontario program screened candidates for the Stream for Entrepreneurs, sending 21 invitations to those who scored 146 to 200 on the Expression of Interest system.

The selection came days after the Ontario government updated the requirements for entrepreneurial stream candidates.

To start a business in the Greater Toronto Area, a candidate needs $800,000 CAD of capital and $600,000 CAD as an investment. Businesses that plan to start a business outside of the Greater Toronto Area or in the IT field need only $400,000 CAD of equity and $200,000 CAD as an investment.

To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a nomination, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
