Canada delighted with another Express Entry selection

This was the second selection in a row.

On April 1, Canada sent 5,000 invitations to candidates registered in Express Entry and who participated in the immigration program for specialists with experience in Canada (Canadian Experience Class). And this is not an April Fool's joke!

The draw took place the day after the selection among provincial program candidates. Since the beginning of 2021, Canada has often conducted selections in this manner.

For the past selection, the minimum passing score on the Complex Ranking System was 432. This was 17 points lower than the previous draw for professionals with Canadian experience, which took place on March 18, 2021.

This new drawing, held immediately after the round for provincial program applicants, shows that Canada continues to prioritize immigration applicants while travel restrictions continue to apply.

Under a new immigration plan for 2021-2023, Canada aims to admit about 110,000 immigrants annually through Express Entry. The country approached that mark last year, inviting a record number of candidates to immigrate through Express Entry and issuing a total of 107,350 invitations to permanent residence. The Government of Canada continues to emphasize that attracting skilled immigrants during and after the COVID-19 pandemic will remain vital to support a strong Canadian economy.
