British Columbia has a new selection process

The province has paid special attention to trade and catering workers

British Columbia has made another selection under the provincial immigration program. The province sent out 506 invitations to applicants. Selection was by the following streams:

  • skilled workers in a stream for professionals in different fields (Skills Immigration);
  • graduates in a stream for professionals in different fields (Skills Immigration);
  • low to medium skilled workers in a stream for professionals in different fields (Skills Immigration);
  • skilled workers under the provincial program (Express Entry BC) ;
  • graduates in the provincial program (Express Entry BC);

British Columbia made special selections for retail and wholesale managers (NOC 0621) and restaurant and catering managers (NOC 0631). Professionals in these fields received 78 invitations with a minimum passing score of 114. The remaining 428 candidates had scores between 81 and 96

For 2021, the province invited just 2,432 applicants through the provincial immigration program.
