British Columbia has made selections for different categories of applicants
Passing grades have gone up a bit.
On November 16, British Columbia held a new invitation draw among applicants of different categories. The province has selected a total of 224 people this time.
116 invitations were distributed among the following categories:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 113;
- International Graduates (including those registered in the Express Entry system) — minimum score of 115;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — minimum score of 94.
Passing scores for the overall selection have risen slightly since the previous such drawing, held October 31.
Another 108 candidates received invitations because of their in-demand professions — some of whom were registered in the federal Express Entry system:
- Early Childhood Educators and Assistants — 59 invitations;
- Healthcare Professionals — 32 invitations;
- Construction Professionals — 12 invitations;
- other specialties (including veterinarians, zootechnicians and veterinary technicians) — 5 invitations.
The minimum score for most of them was 60 — except for experts in the field of construction. These candidates needed to score at least 75 points. Points are awarded for work experience, education, language skills, employer location and salary.
The previous target selection was held on November 7, the scores from that time remained unchanged. However, special drawings for construction professionals have not been held before.
