British Columbia sent in-demand professionals invitations to relocate
This time, candidates needed to have a specific occupation from the list.
On August 29, British Columbia held a targeted draw for candidates with certain occupations. 155 invitations were sent to skilled workers and international graduates, both with and without a profile in the Express Entry system.
Invitations were distributed among the following in-demand occupations:
- tech workers — 102 invitations;
- early childhood educators and assistants — 28 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 20 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
Technicians had to score 88 points on the provincial scoring system and other candidates had to score 60. British Columbia awards points for language skills, education, work experience, employer location, and salary.
The previous targeted selection was held on August 15, the passing scores were the same. And on August 22, a general selection was held for candidates with all professions.
