Ontario holds its largest immigration selection of the year
Approximately 3,000 candidates received invitations.
On August 3, Ontario held an immigration draw for skilled trades candidates. This time there were a lot of invitations — 2,844. In no other draw this year has the province ever selected so many people at once.
Applicants had to meet several requirements. First, score between 250 and 516 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System, and second, have work experience in one of the eligible occupations.
The list includes contractors and supervisors in various sectors, tool makers, metal workers, welders, electricians, installers, plumbers, and many other professionals. The full list of occupations can be viewed on Ontario's official website.
The Skilled Trades stream is for candidates with a profile in the Express Entry system who meet the requirements of one of the federal immigration programs:
The previous draw for this category of candidates was held on May 18 and the minimum score has not changed. In the Comprehensive Ranking System, points are awarded for age, language skills, education, work experience, and similar factors.
