The largest immigration draw in Quebec
More than 1,500 lucky people received a chance for permanent residency.
Quebec has released the results of a drawing for skilled workers who want to immigrate to the province. The selection took place on July 20.
This time there were a lot of invitations, 1,633, making this draw the largest in recent years. The candidates had to meet some requirements:
- have an oral French language proficiency of level 7 in the provincial scoring system (above average) and a minimum score of 596 in the Arrima scoring system;
- or have a job offer outside of Montreal and its suburbs.
The previous selection in Quebec was held on June 29, in which the region selected applicants with certain occupations.
Quebec is the only province in Canada with its own immigration system. The region sets the criteria for selecting candidates independently of the federal government.
Arrima evaluates language skills (primarily French), work experience, education, age, occupation, and availability of a job offer in Quebec.
