Canada dramatically increased scores in Express Entry
And sent several times fewer invitations.
On July 4, Canada held a new immigration draw in the Express Entry system for applicants to all federal immigration programs.
The invitations were sent to 700 candidates who scored 511 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System. Points are awarded for factors such as age, education, language skills, work experience, and so on.

The previous Express Entry drawing was held on June 27. The minimum score was much lower — 486, and there were more than 4,000 invitations. The next day, June 28, there was the first targeted selection, in which invitations were issued only to healthcare professionals. There is also another targeted selection scheduled for July 5 — for candidates with professions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
