Saskatchewan's largest immigration draw
The province issued more than 1,000 invitations.
On April 20, Saskatchewan held a new immigration draw under its provincial immigration program.
1,067 candidates who applied in two streams were invited:
- Saskatchewan Express Entry — 623 invitations;
- Occupation In-Demand — 444 invitations.
Candidates in both streams needed to score a minimum of 69 points on the evaluation system. Saskatchewan awards points for work experience, education, language skills, age, and connections to the province. In addition, applicants needed to have work experience in one of the following occupations:
- production and transportation logistics coordinators;
- computer and information systems managers;
- land surveyors;
- data scientists;
- cybersecurity specialists;
- business systems specialists;
- information systems specialists;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- computer systems developers and programmers;
- software engineers and designers;
- software developers and programmers;
- web designers;
- web developers and programmers;
- mechanical engineers;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- computer network and web technicians;
- user support technicians;
- occupational therapists;
- paramedics;
- respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists, and cardiopulmonary technologists;
- medical laboratory technologists;
- medical radiation technology;
- medical sonographers;
- cardiology technologists and electrophysiological diagnostic technologists;
- therapists in counseling and related fields;
- technical sales specialists in wholesale trade;
- facility operation and maintenance managers;
- supervisors, motor vehicle and other ground transit operators;
- machinists and machining and tooling inspectors;
- welders and related machine operators;
- industrial electricians;
- carpenters;
- construction millwrights and industrial mechanics;
- heavy-duty equipment mechanics;
- automotive, truck, and bus service technicians;
- plasterers, drywall installers, finishers, and lathers;
- agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors;
- power engineers and power system operators.
In the previous selection, which was held on March 23, the passing score was much higher — 82, and invitations were sent much fewer.
