British Columbia invites immigration candidates again
The province selected more than 200 people.
On February 22, British Columbia held another immigration draw under the provincial immigration program. The total number of people invited was 246.
The province selected 203 participants in a general drawing, which was held for the following streams:
- Skilled Worker (including those registered in Express Entry) — a minimum score of 101;
- International Graduate (including those registered in Express Entry) — a minimum score of 103;
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled — a minimum score of 85.
The previous general draw was held on January 7. In the new draw, the passing scores have increased slightly for international graduates and entry-level and semi-skilled workers, conversely, decreasing for skilled workers.
Another 43 people received invitations in a target draw for certain professions. They needed to score 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 18 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 20 invitations;
- veterinarians and veterinary technicians — less than 5 invitations.
The previous target draw was held on February 14, and the passing score was 5 units lower.
British Columbia awards points for education, language skills, work experience, employer location, and wage offered. All candidates must have a job offer in the province.
