Nova Scotia targets childhood educators

The province has created a new immigration pilot and has already invited candidates. Let's go over the details.

Nova Scotia has launched a new Early Childhood Educators (ECE) Immigration Pilot. On December 20, the province sent notifications of interest to professionals who were in the Express Entry candidate pool.

What were the conditions for receiving a notification:

  • profile in the Express Entry system;
  • the occupation of early childhood educator or assistant;
  • Express Entry's profile states a desire to immigrate to Nova Scotia or states a desire to immigrate to any province in Canada.

Express Entry is the system Canada uses to process applications for federal immigration programs. Candidates can receive an invitation in a general Express Entry draw or apply for provincial immigration programs that work through Express Entry. If a candidate has received a notification of interest from a province, they can accept it and subsequently immigrate to that region.

Thus, educators who previously registered in Express Entry and have now received notifications from Nova Scotia can move to this province.

What should be done?

Nova Scotia asks those who have received notifications of interest to fill out a form on the province's website. This is the first step to begin the immigration process. The form will ask you to upload your ID card, diplomas, language test results, and other documents.
