Canada hits top travel destinations 2023

The prestigious publication recommends a visit to one of the Canadian provinces next year.

The popular National Geographic magazine has published the top 25 places to visit in 2023. The magazine divided them into five categories: community, nature, culture, family, and adventure. One of the Canadian provinces was also included in the ranking.

This year's community category chose places where you won't find crowds of tourists, but they are no less beautiful. The focus was also on factors such as ecotourism, sustainability, and diversity. This is the category in which Canada falls.

So, the top places in 2023:

  • Laos;
  • Dodecanese Islands, Greece;
  • Ghana;
  • Milwaukee, USA;
  • Alberta, Canada.

The editors of National Geographic highlighted Alberta's Athabasca Glacier, Banff National Park, the prairies, the cities of Calgary and Edmonton, and the lands of Canada's indigenous peoples. In Elk Island National Park, for example, you can learn about a culture that dates back 8,000 years. And the cave drawing and paintings in Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park are a UNESCO heritage site.
