A new drawing from British Columbia
The passing score is reduced, but there are limitations.
On September 21, British Columbia sent out 357 invitations under the provincial immigration program. They were received by professionals, university graduates, and candidates with in-demand professions.
341 candidates were selected in the streams for workers and graduates. This time, the province selected those who had a job offer outside of Vancouver and scored the minimum number of points:
- Skilled Worker — 91 points;
- Skilled Worker (Express Entry option) — 91 points;
- International Graduate — 86 points;
- International Graduate (Express Entry option) — 86 points;
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled — 70 points.
16 more candidates received invitations in a targeted drawing. The province selected educators and health professionals regardless of their job offer. They all needed to score a minimum of 60 points, and the invitations were distributed as follows:
Profession | Number of invitations | Categories |
Early childhood educators and assistants | 11 | Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry option |
Health care professionals | Less than 5 | Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry option, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled |
Compared to the previous draw, which took place on September 13, the passing scores in the general drawing have dropped significantly, while those in the target drawing have remained unchanged.
We recommend keeping an eye on the history of passing scores and number of invitations to improve your chances of immigrating to British Columbia.
