Immigration to Alberta through the Accelerated Tech Pathway
The Accelerated Tech Pathway stream allows IT professionals to immigrate quickly and easily.
The Accelerated Tech Pathway of Alberta's provincial program allows candidates with an Express Entry profile and a job offer in the tech sector to immigrate.
Eligibility requirements
To apply for immigration, candidates must meet the requirements of the Alberta Express Entry stream, namely:
- have an active profile in the Express Entry system;
- meet the minimum criteria for one of the federal programs:
- score at least 300 points in the Express Entry system.
Additionally, candidates must have a job offer in Alberta in one of the eligible occupations or be working in the province at the time of application.
The chances of receiving an invitation through this stream may be lower if your Express Entry profile expires in 5 months or less.

- advertising and public relations managers;
- telecommunications carriers managers;
- human resources professionals;
- advertising and public relations professionals;
- recruitment and personnel specialists;
- engineering managers;
- architecture and science managers;
- computer and information systems managers;
- mathematicians, statisticians, and actuaries;
- data scientists;
- cybersecurity specialists;
- business systems specialists;
- information systems specialists;
- web designers;
- database analysts and data administrators;
- software engineers and designers;
- computer systems developers and programmers;
- software developers and programmers;
- web developers and programmers;
- civil engineers;
- mechanical engineers;
- electrical and electronics engineers;
- computer engineers;
- biotechnologists and biotechnicians;
- drafting technologists and technicians;
- computer network and web technicians;
- technical support specialists;
- information systems testing technicians;
- mechanical engineering technologists and technicians;
- industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians;
- electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians;
- medical laboratory technologists;
- medical technologists and technicians;
- medical laboratory technicians;
- business development officers and market researchers;
- managers in publishing, film, broadcasting, and performing arts;
- producers, directors, choreographers, and related occupations;
- graphic designers and illustrators;
- corporate sales managers;
- electricians;
- industrial electricians;
- telecommunications installation and repair workers.
In addition to the occupation, candidates must have a job offer from a company in an eligible sector.
How to apply
Candidates must create an Express Entry profile and apply on the Alberta provincial website. Alberta will issue a provincial nomination if approved, adding 600 additional points to the candidate's Express Entry score, almost guaranteeing an invitation in the next draw.
After application, you will be awarded points according to the points grid. The most successful candidates will be invited for immigration.
