Canada held the smallest selection in Express Entry

This time around, candidates with Canadian experience are not as lucky as they used to be.

On September 14, Canada sent 2,000 invitations to candidates registered with Express Entry and participating in the immigration program for specialists with experience in Canada.

The minimum passing score on the complex ranking system was 462. This was 59 points higher than in the previous selection, which took place on August 19. In the last selection, Canada invited a record number of candidates.

Under a new immigration plan for 2021-2023, Canada aims to admit 108,500 immigrants annually through Express Entry. For 2021, 108,414 invitations have already been issued. Thus, the country has very little left to achieve its goal.

Recent selections show that Canada continues to give priority to immigration applicants who are already in the country or who are nominated by the provinces, while travel restrictions continue to apply.

To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Express Entry selection, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
