Immigration to Nova Scotia through the Occupations in Demand stream

The Occupations in Demand stream of Nova Scotia’s provincial program targets semi-skilled professions in high demand in the Nova Scotia labour market.

Eligibility

To apply for the Occupations in Demand stream, you must meet the following requirements:

• receive a job offer in Nova Scotia in one of the in-demand occupations (listed below);
• have 1 year of experience related to the proposed job;
• be 21-55 years old;
• have a high school education;
• demonstrate proficiency in English or French at level 4 on the CLB scale (basic level);
• show enough funds to settle in Nova Scotia successfully.

The stream accepts applications from candidates of the following professions:

• nurse aides;
• transport truck drivers;
• construction trades helpers and labourers;
• light duty cleaners;
• heavy equipment operators.

Professions may change depending on the demand in the provincial labour market.
