Quebec selects candidates with French proficiency

The province held a new immigration draw.

On September 5, the province of Quebec held an immigration draw, issuing 1,417 invitations to candidates.

Applicants were required to have good oral French skills (level 7 or higher on the Quebec scale) and meet one of the following criteria:

  • score at least 575 points in the Arrima system;
  • or receive a job offer outside of Montreal and its suburbs.

The Arrima system is used by Quebec to evaluate and select immigration candidates. Applicants earn points for factors such as age, language skills (especially French), education, work experience, occupation, job offers in the province, and more.

Quebec's previous draw was held on August 29, with a slightly higher minimum score requirement.

Stay tuned for future updates to keep track of important changes in the selection process.
