Manitoba had an unusual immigration selection

This is the first time the province has invited candidates who want to live in certain cities.

On August 31, Manitoba invited 288 applicants in a new immigration selection for skilled workers in the province.

This drawing is different from all previous ones because Manitoba selected only those candidates who were working in the province at the time of application and had declared their intention to reside outside the city of Winnipeg. In addition, they had to score 600 points in the evaluation system.

Of the invited candidates, 127 were registered in the federal Express Entry system. The remainder applied directly through the Manitoba system.

The province's previous selection was held on August 25 and was for Ukrainian citizens only. And on August 24, a draw was held for skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas, as well as for international graduates. For professionals in Manitoba, the passing score was much higher, at 646.

Manitoba awards points for education, language skills, work experience, age, connections to the province and other regions of Canada.
