New selection for immigration candidates to British Columbia
As always, the province sends out invitations once a week.
On June 13, British Columbia conducted a new draw and invited 211 candidates for immigration.
Of the total number of applicants, 170 were selected in a general drawing that included several streams:
- skilled workers (including those registered in Express Entry) — a minimum score of 104;
- international graduates (including those registered in Express Entry) — a minimum score of 107;
- entry level and semi-skilled — a minimum score of 87.
In addition, 41 invitations were sent to candidates with certain professions that scored at least 60 points:
- early childhood educators and assistants — 23 invitations;
- healthcare professionals — 18 invitations.
The previous general selection was held by British Columbia on May 30. The passing scores for entry-level and semi-skilled workers were 2 points lower, and for the rest they were unchanged. Later, on June 6, the targeted selection was held, in which educators and medics were invited, among others.
British Columbia awards points for education, language skills, work experience, employer location, and salary. You must find a job in the province before you can apply for immigration.
