"A fine whisker, it's worth seeing": cats have become landmarks
Residents and visitors to British Columbia are actively posting cat reviews on Google Maps.
The really good news we needed: In British Columbia, people started to add local cats to Google Maps as landmarks. Witty citizens are posting photos of their favorite animals and writing descriptions, and tourists are actively adding reviews. The average cat gets 5 out of 5 stars because critics are very generous with their praise.
The practice is particularly common in Victoria, where virtual maps already have locations such as "friendly cat" and "more friendly cats".Tourists have already been there and shared the opinion: the cats are really hospitable, it's not a trick.
Now Canadian cities are attracting visitors with whiskers and paws, and travel agency employees are happy about the funny prank: it really attracts more people even to unremarkable neighborhoods. The trend has recently become popular in Tic-Tacs. For every feline location, there are at least five rave reviews.
Perhaps cats are causing such a stir because it is not easy to get a pet in Canada. It takes a lot of money, time, and effort. We'll soon prepare an article on how to buy and care for a pet in Maple Leaf country.
