Expedite issuance of visas to Canada: news of the week

The Canadian authorities decided to help residents with paying rent. A one-time payment of 500 Canadian dollars is available to those whose income is below 20,000 Canadian dollars per year per person or below 35,000 dollars per family.

But from next year, payments to the pension fund will also increase. The maximum deduction for employees will be 3,754 Canadian dollars per year. The exact amount depends on your income and where you live.

Some Canadians evade taxes to save money. However, by doing so, they deprive themselves of benefits and payments from the state. You won't be able to claim child benefits, inflation payments, rent assistance, and many other supports available in Canada without tax declarations.

Improvements in immigration system

Visas to Canada for parents and grandparents became more affordable. Now when applying for a Super Visa, applicants can purchase medical insurance with a monthly payment. Previously, the insurance was required to be paid for a year in advance. On average, this is 1,500 Canadian dollars per person. The Super Visa is for the parents and grandparents of those already living in Canada as permanent residents or citizens.

Another great news. The processing of immigration and visa applications in Canada has accelerated. In December, immigration officers are only 20% behind the plan. A year ago, the backlog was in 90% of applications. Our clients also began to receive visas that were previously delayed.

Jobs in Canada

In 2023, a lot of job vacancies are predicted in the Canadian labour market. A survey was conducted among workers in the country. Half of them intend to change jobs next year. The main reason is the desire to earn more. Also, there's a mass retirement of employees in Canada. In many companies, the majority of employees are getting older, and there is no influx of young people. Approximately 36% of Canadian businesses are in dire need of new staff.

One of the solutions to the problem is the employment of refugees. Canada intends to accept 2,000 Economic Mobility applicants. This program is intended for skilled refugees. On December 13, a draw took place in the province of Ontario. The region sent 160 invitations to French-speaking skilled workers. They needed to have experience in one of the trades or education-related occupations.

On the same day, British Columbia selected 217 applicants from the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker, and International Graduate streams. Some invitations were sent to healthcare workers, childhood educators, and veterinarians.

On December 15, Saskatchewan invited 635 candidates with in-demand occupations. The list includes occupations in IT, healthcare, science, agriculture, manufacturing, education, and many other sectors. Separately, the region invited 2 citizens of Ukraine on simplified grounds.

Another draw was held by Prince Edward Island, also on December 15. The province invited 134 people. Most of them were specialists of various qualifications and university graduates, and a small part were entrepreneurs.

Manitoba conducted two draws in a row. The first one took place on December 15, for skilled workers overseas. 1,030 candidates were selected. The second draw was for three categories: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Graduates. The region sent out 249 invitations.

Unfortunately, one draw didn't take place. On December 7, Canada was scheduled to hold an Express Entry draw for candidates of federal immigration programs. But due to a technical failure, there was no draw. It's not yet known when the next draw will be held.
