New draw for specialists from British Columbia

The province selected candidates with in-demand occupations.

On December 13, British Columbia held another draw under the provincial immigration program. Some of the invitations were sent in a general drawing, and some were sent in a targeted drawing for professionals in certain occupations. A total of 217 candidates were selected.

180 people were invited in the general draw under the following streams:

The passing score for entry-level and semi-skilled workers was 80, and for other applicants, it was 104. The scores changed slightly from the previous general drawing, which was held on November 28.

Another 37 invitations were sent in a targeted drawing to educators, medics, and veterinarians. They had to score a minimum of 60 points, and the invitations were distributed as follows:

Healthcare professionals 13 Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including those registered in Express Entry, low— and medium-skilled specialists
Veterinarians and veterinary technicians Less than 5 Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including those registered in Express Entry

The previous targeted drawing in British Columbia was on December 6. The passing scores were the same, but fewer invitations were sent this time.
