The Canadian province is ready to invite entrepreneurs
A program that has been idle for a long time will start up again.
This July, B.C. will resume accepting applications under the Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category, which has not worked since July 2021. During the year, the province processes applications that were previously submitted.
There will be changes to the entrepreneurial stream that have not yet been announced. The new requirements for applicants will be published at the same time as the program launches. Previously, to apply, entrepreneurs had to buy or start a business in B.C., as well as have $600,000 CAD in capital and be willing to invest $200,000 CAD in the venture.
In addition to the Base Category stream, there are two other business streams in the province that continue to work:
- Regional Pilot for entrepreneurs who want to do business in sparsely populated areas of the province;
- Strategic Projects for companies that want to do business in the province and move some key employees there.
