Immigration to Nova Scotia for graduates with in-demand professions

Graduates with in-demand degrees from provincial universities can apply for permanent residency through the International Graduates in Demand stream.

The International Graduates in Demand stream of Nova Scotia's provincial program is designed for international graduates of local universities whose skills and education are in demand in the job market. Candidates don't need to complete all their studies in the province, but at least half.

Requirements

To apply for this stream, you must meet several criteria:

  • be between 19 and 55 years old;
  • receive a job offer in Nova Scotia in one of the eligible occupations (listed below) that match your recent field of study;
  • have graduated from an eligible program within the last 3 years (the program must be completed at an approved Nova Scotia institution, last at least 30 weeks, with at least 50% of the entire program completed in the province);
  • obtain the necessary certificates or licenses to work in Nova Scotia;
  • demonstrate English or French language proficiency at CLB level 5 (intermediate level);
  • have sufficient funds to settle in the province.
