Prince Edward Island launches new immigration stream
Sanitation workers, drivers, construction workers, and cleaners are especially needed in the province.
Occupations in Demand, a stream of in-demand occupations, launched in the province of Prince Edward Island on March 1, 2022. The province's next immigration invitation draw is announced for March 17, but there's no word yet on what streams it will be for.
Candidates must receive an offer of permanent employment in one of four occupations:
- nurse assistants, orderlies, and patient care assistants;
- truck drivers;
- construction assistants and handymen;
- cleaners.
The rest of the requirements are quite gentle:
- 18 to 59 years of age;
- one year of professional experience;
a high school diploma;
- language test with a minimum score of 4 on the CLB/NCLC;
- enough money in the account for moving and settling in.
To enter the program, candidates must register with Expression of Interest. Candidates and their employers then fill out special forms, after which they must wait for an invitation.
