How to get a 12-week free English course at a major language school and then stay in Canada permanently.

The federal selection programs are not yet available in Canada, but the provinces continue to invite people to work. So, which provinces have invited the most candidates?

On Feb. 1, British Columbia invited 126 people to apply for a provincial nomination in the Technical Program, which is designed for IT professionals. The minimum passing score has not changed since the last drawing, it is 80 points. But please don't confuse those scores with Express Entry right away, BC has its own assessment of applicants. Write in the comments if you need to make a separate video about it.

Quebec held the second draw in January for the skilled trades stream, inviting 322 applicants. But the passing score went up by 45 points. The second drawing already required 647 points on the Arrima scoring system. Also not to be confused with Express Entry.

Alberta also raised the passing score for the second January drawing of the provincial program. The minimum score is now 346, 15 points more than the January 5 requirement. It's now about points in Express Entry and I think even 346 points is easy enough to score. In the second selection in January, Alberta sent 350 invitations.

Canada still needs workers, Canadians themselves are not too eager to study carpentry or cooks. Only one Canadian student in ten is going to pursue a career in this field.

Here is a list of the professions that are most in demand by 2025: the government expects Canada to need 17146 carpenters, 16362 cooks, 14299 hairdressers, and 10000 car mechanics and welders each. If you work in this profession, your chance of moving to Canada increases.

In total, the Government of Canada has posted on its official website information about more than 300 professions, professions in demand in each province and the financial support that can be received from the government. For almost every person who is determined to move to Canada, it is possible to find an immigration program that suits his or her needs.

You probably know that truckers are in great demand in Canada. They continue to strike in the capital city, but I'll come back to that. On February 1, Ontario's amendment went into effect requiring trucking companies to provide a valid commercial carrier certificate and safety rating document when they issue work permits for immigrant drivers. The Ontario Ministry of Labour believes the amendment will protect job seekers and make the roads safer, but here's something that could make it harder to find work.

Forbes magazine has published a list of Canada's best employers and Randstat, an international recruitment company, has published projections for 2022 on the most in-demand skills in the Canadian job market and the highest paying jobs. I'll be releasing a video with a list of these occupations soon.

Life in Canada is getting more expensive — record year price increase since 1991, 3.4%. Food and utilities are up about 5%, and Canadians are spending 7% more on transportation than they did in December 2020. Bank of Canada officials have promised to return inflation to the 3 per cent level. I'm wondering what your country's inflation rate is, post in the comments if your prices have gone up, or if Canada is the only one not lucky.

The Canadian government is investing $35 million CAD in immigrant newcomer support services. Their network will expand to include nine new services in British Columbia, Manitoba, Alberta and New Brunswick. There used to be 32 immigrant support organizations across the country and now there will be 41. There are also plans to promote French-speaking culture in Western Canada.

Georgian College in the heart of Toronto is partnering with Canada's top English school, ILAC to offer a tuition discount of up to $10,000 CAD. You will receive a tuition scholarship of $5000 CAD per year, or $10000 CAD for two years of study. The offer is valid until the end of the month.

As part of the promotion, you can choose from eight programs of study. In one year you will receive a diploma in the following specialties: "Project Management," "Human Resources," "Sales Management," and "Business Management." The two-year programs are: "Business," "International Business Management," "Computer Programming," and "Computer Systems Technology."

The most budgeted program, Project Management, without the scholarship costs $17137 CAD. But with the $5,000 CAD discount, you'll pay only $12,137 CAD for tuition. The other one-year programs with the discounted tuition will cost you no more than $13,000 CAD. That's a great deal considering you'll be attending a public college in downtown Toronto.

The two-year Business program will cost $21,897 CAD including scholarship. Programming-related fields of study will be more expensive: $23860 CAD for two years, including the stipend. But this program is practical. That is, not only will you learn the theory, but you will immediately apply your knowledge in some company in Toronto.

The most expensive program in this promotion is International Business Management. Without the discount you would pay $35,895 CAD for two years, but with the promotion you would pay $10,000 CAD less.

As you know, there are no federal programs in Express Entry now, so there are only two reliable options to immigrate to Canada: work and study. Studying at a Georgian college is a guaranteed way to stay in the country. But keep in mind that in order to participate you need to have at least $ 20,000 USD, because you have to live on something in the country. To get a student visa, you need to prove that you have enough money. You can pay part of the tuition, the college does not require the entire amount at once when signing the contract, but the money in the account must be shown.

We can take care of all the paperwork. The cost of our assistance with your visa application is $1000 CAD. The cost of the initial consultation is deducted from this amount if you sign a contract with us within a week.

And one more piece of positive news. You can apply to college even without IELTS and with poor English. If you do, Toronto's top language school, ILAC, which partners with the college, will give you 12 free weeks of English online. While we apply for your visa, you learn the language, and start studying in Canada in the fall of 2022 or winter of 2023.

If you have studied in Canada for a year, you will get a work permit for a year; if you have studied for 2 years, you will get a work permit for 3 years. After that, you can apply for permanent residency and stay in Canada permanently.

There is some negative news. The international situation is worrisome. Tensions between Canada and Russia remain tense: Canada's Foreign Affairs Ministry has decided to recall home secondary embassy workers in Ukraine, along with their families. Canada is also transferring military force to Ukraine.

An ice storm hit Nova Scotia on Feb. 4, leaving people without power for a third day. On Saturday, more than 50,000 people were forced to live in darkness; by Sunday evening, that number had dropped to 15,000.

It's hard to say yet how the situation with the drucker protests in Ottawa will end. I went to Parliament and recorded reporting from the center of the capital. A state of emergency was declared in the city. Across Canada, pandemic-related restrictions have begun to be lifted. I'm already confused as to whether this happened according to plan or whether the protesters got it done after all.
