The Atlantic Pilot is restarting

Due to its success, the pilot program will become permanent.

The popular Atlantic Pilot Program will officially restart on January 1, 2022. From then on, it will become a permanent immigration program and will continue to help the Atlantic provinces attract foreigners.

The pilot, launched in 2017, was a huge success. Thanks to it, more than 10,000 applicants moved to participating provinces and local employers issued 9,800 job offers. Remarkably, more than 90% of the applicants lived in the same regions one year later.

"Immigration is key to Atlantic Canada's long-term economic prosperity," commented Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, "and through continued collaboration between the federal and provincial governments, we can ensure that the now-established Atlantic Immigration Program will be a resounding success.

The Atlantic Pilot allows you to move to one of four provinces:

To apply, candidates must find a job in one of the provinces. The pilot has a list of participating employers that hire foreigners in a simplified manner. These features are expected to remain in the updated program. The program plans to invite a minimum of 6,000 candidates each year.

Applications for the Atlantic Program are scheduled to begin on March 6, 2022.
