More Canadian airports will accept flights from abroad

Soon, international travelers will have a choice of 18 airports in the country.

The Government of Canada is lifting some restrictions on accepting international flights. Previously, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, not all Canadian airports would accept aircraft from abroad. Now the list will expand. However, as of November 30, only vaccinated passengers will be able to travel by air.

At the moment 10 airports serve international flights:

  • Halifax Stanfield International (Halifax, province of Nova Scotia);
  • Québec City Jean Lesage International (Quebec City, province of Quebec);
  • Montréal-Trudeau International (Montreal, Quebec);
  • Ottawa/Macdonald–Cartier International (Ottawa, Ontario);
  • Toronto Pearson International (Toronto, Ontario);
  • Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre (Toronto, Ontario);
  • Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International (Winnipeg, Manitoba);
  • Edmonton International (Edmonton, Alberta);
  • Calgary International (Calgary, Alberta);
  • Vancouver International (Vancouver, British Columbia).

Starting from November 30, eight more airports will serve international flights:

  • St. John's International Airport (St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador);
  • John C. Munro Hamilton International (Toronto, Ontario);
  • Region of Waterloo International (Woolwich, Ontario);
  • Regina International (Regina, Saskatchewan);
  • Saskatoon John J. Diefenbaker International (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan);
  • Kelowna International (Kelowna, British Columbia);
  • Abbotsford International (Abbotsford, British Columbia);
  • Victoria International (Victoria, British Columbia).

Listed airports are working to implement measures to safely accommodate passengers from abroad. Canada's entry regulations remain unchanged for now.
