Canada will hold three job fairs online. List of in-demand professions
A Canadian province will hold three job fairs at once. They will be held online, so anyone can register.
Job fairs are a great way to immigrate to Canada. At fairs, immigration officers talk about immigration opportunities, and local employers review applicants' applications and may call them for an interview, which means you can get a job in Canada right away. Your education, age, and English level are not important for participation in fairs. But there are still points to pay attention to, you will learn about them now.
Job fairs
Even before the pandemic, when there were no restrictions, Canadian provincial representatives would travel with employers to different countries and call people for work. Right at the job fair, people could be interviewed and signed a work contract to work in Canada. Then people would either apply for immigration with a job offer or come to Canada on a work visa.
When the covid began, job fairs began to be held online. And that's one of the few pluses of the pandemic, because you can now participate from absolutely any city. The province of New Brunswick hosts the fairs most often. They have a big problem with the shortage of workers because people go to popular provinces like Ontario and British Columbia.
Suitable occupations
This time New Brunswick will hold three fairs at once. They have exactly the same requirements, only the list of professions differs.
The first fair is for workers in the forestry industry. These are the operators:
The second fair is looking for poultry workers:
- truck drivers;
- farm workers;
- industrial butchers and poultry handlers;
- food and beverage processing workers.
The third fair is for truck drivers. What can you do, truckers are in high demand in Canada, so they are lucky enough to be able to participate in two fairs at once.
Requirements and documents
One must have one year of full-time experience in one of the suitable professions, that's the main thing. There are no restrictions on age, education, language level and so on. Several documents will be needed. The obligatory ones are a scan of your passport and a CV. If you do not live in your home country, you need to attach a visa to the country where you are. And if you have a spouse, you can also upload his or her resume, the profession is no longer important.

If you've already done a degree assessment and passed the language test, upload those documents too. New Brunswick's website says they are optional, but you should be aware that if there are two identical candidates in experience, but one has already passed IELTS and a certified diploma and the other does not, it makes sense who will be invited.
By the way, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that a resume for a job fair should be written according to Canadian standards, otherwise employers will not even consider it. We have specialists in our team who write Canadian format resumes. You're unlikely to have it in time for these fairs, but New Brunswick often hosts these events, so prepare for the next time.
Applaying
Let's say your profession is suitable, you have all the documents. What next? You need to fill in an application form on the province's official website. The questionnaire consists of four pages where you will be asked for different information, for example, what is your education, how many years of work experience, whether you have children and so on.
It is very important that completing the questionnaire does not guarantee that you will attend the fair. The provincial representatives will review the application forms and select the candidates. But in any case, I recommend that you try, as early as possible, because you don't know when the registration closes. If you are selected, they will email you an invitation with the exact date and time of the fair.
Life in New Brunswick
New Brunswick has job fairs because a lot of people are leaving there. Why is that? Is it bad there? New Brunswick is really not the best of Canadian provinces. It doesn't have big cities and fewer jobs. But it does have some pluses, such as easier immigration routes and lower cost of living compared to other regions. Once you get permanent resident status, you can go to any other province.
