Saskatchewan holds second straight major selection
The province selected about 500 lucky winners at a time.
On August 19, the Saskatchewan Immigration Programme sent out 496 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province.
Invitations and points in the "Expression of Interest" system were distributed as follows:
- professionals in demand — 335 invitations, minimum score 70;
- qualified professionals who are selected through Express Entry are 161 invitations, with a minimum score of 71.
Passing scores are down slightly from the previous selection, which took place on August 5.
The invited candidates had experience in one of 61 suitable professions. The list includes managers in various fields, production operators, administrative staff, technologists, medics, supervisors and other professions.
In addition to having a suitable profession, applicants for immigration to Saskatchewan are assessed on factors such as work experience, education, language, age and links to the province.
