Express Entry record selections continue

Express Entry record selections continue

This is the second time in a row that Canada has lowered the passing score for candidates and issued thousands of invitations.

On June 24, Canada sent 6,000 invitations to candidates registered with Express Entry and participating in the immigration program for specialists with experience in Canada.

For the past selection, the minimum passing score on the complex ranking system was 357. This was 11 points lower than in the previous selection, which took place on June 10. The passing score in this drawing was the lowest for 2021, not counting the record selection held in February, in which more than 27,000 candidates were invited.

The draw among professionals with Canadian experience took place the day after the Express Entry selection for provincial immigration program participants, in which a record number of candidates were invited.

Recent selections show that Canada continues to give priority to immigration applicants who are already in the country or who are nominated by the provinces, while travel restrictions continue to apply.

Under a new immigration plan for 2021-2023, Canada aims to admit about 110,000 immigrants annually through Express Entry. For 2021, more than 88,000 invitations have already been issued.

The Government of Canada continues to emphasize that attracting skilled immigrants during and after the COVID-19 pandemic will remain vital to support a strong Canadian economy.

To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Express Entry selection, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
