Alberta held an immigration prank
Once again, about 200 people have received invitations to immigrate to Canada.
On June 22, Alberta's immigration program sent out 184 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The drawing was held among candidates who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.
The minimum score of the complex ranking system was 300. It did not change compared to previous selection, which was held on June 5.
In order to be invited to be selected, applicants were required to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which the Canadian federal government uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:
- for qualified professionals;
- for professionals with experience in Canada;
- for working professionals.
Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This virtually guarantees an invitation to apply in a subsequent Express Entry drawing. Points are awarded for factors such as age, education, work experience, English or French language skills and others.
To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a nomination from the Province of Alberta, keep an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
