Alberta shares the results of the immigration raffle
The province has invited candidates who participate in the federal immigration program.
Alberta released the results of the selection process, which took place on May 18. On that day, Alberta's immigration program sent out 250 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province. The drawing was held among candidates who participated in the provincial immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.
The minimum score of the complex ranking system (CRS) was 301. This is 1 point higher compared to the previous selection, which took place on May 5.
Applicants were required to have a profile in the Express Entry system in order to receive an invitation to selection. Express Entry is the system that the federal government of Canada uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:
- for qualified professionals;
- for people who have already worked in Canada;
- for working professionals.
Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This virtually guarantees that they will receive an invitation to apply in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Points are awarded for human factors such as the candidate's age, education, work experience, knowledge of English or French, and others.
To maximize your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a nomination from the Province of Alberta, we recommend keeping an eye on history of passing scores and number of invitations.
