Express Entry continues to enjoy low scores

Several thousand applicants were the lucky ones in another immigration screening.

On June 10, Canada sent 6,000 invitations to candidates registered with Express Entry and participating in the immigration program for specialists with experience in Canada.

For the past selection, the minimum passing score on the Comprehensive Ranking System was 368. This was 12 points lower than in the previous selection, which took place on May 31. The passing score in this drawing was the lowest for 2021, not counting the record selection held in February, in which more than 27,000 candidates were invited.

The draw among professionals with Canadian experience took place the day after the Express Entry selection for provincial immigration program participants, in which a record number of candidates were invited.

Recent selections show that Canada continues to give priority to immigration applicants who are already in the country or who are provincially nominated, while travel restrictions continue to apply.

Under a new immigration plan for 2021-2023, Canada aims to welcome about 110,000 immigrants annually through Express Entry. The Government of Canada continues to emphasize that attracting skilled immigrants during and after the COVID-19 pandemic will remain vital to support a strong Canadian economy.
